These dispensations mention the Louisiana colonial parishes: Attakapas and Opelousas to the west, Avoyelles, Rapides and Natchitoches to the northwest, the Mississippi River parishes from Point Coupée to St. Bernard...below New Orleans, as well as Valenzuela, Chapitoulas, and Galveztown. ...The original documents...are deposited in the Notre Dame Archives, Notre Dame University, South Bend, Indiana."
