Peter Wright was born in Norfolk County, England, in the 1590s, the son of Nicholas Wright. He married Alice Wright, a distant cousin, probably in England before 1635. They had eleven children, 1637- 1655, most born at Sandwich, Massachusetts. He died ca. 1663 at Oyster Bay, Long Island. His great great grandson, James Wright, was born ca. 1751 in Botetourt County, Virginia. He married Marthat Hamilton in 1776. They had eleven children, 1777-ca. 1798. The family migrated to Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky, in 1794. He died in Kentucky in 1825. Descendants lived in Kentucky and elsewhere.
