John Jolliffe, son of Thomas Jollie of Jolliffe, of Cofton Hall, Worcester, England, was born in England, in about 1642. He immigrated to America at a young age and settled in Norfolk County, Virginia. He married Mary Rigglesworth, daughter of Peter Riggleworth, in about 1662. They had four sons and three daughters. He died in 1716. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, and elsewhere.
