Robert Talliaferro was in Virginia by 1638. He married Katherine Dedman, daughter of Henry and Katherine Dedman. He owned land in Gloucester County, Virginia and on the Rappahannock River. Some descendants spelled name "Toliver". Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and elsewhere.
