Philip Ammerman probably was born in New Jersey. He married Frances Hibler before 1778. They lived in Washington County, Maryland in 1790 and later moved to Bourbon County, Kentucky. He died in Cane Ridge, Kentucky in 1818. Descendants lived in Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, New York, Texas, and elsewhere.
