John Vawter and his brothers immigrated about 1685 from England to Virginia. He had a son named John, who was in Essex County, Virginia in 1737. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.
