Indexes to marriages and baptisms of the province of South Holland, the Netherlands. The province of South Holland is divided into 15 districts, with the towns of Rijswijk and Voorburg each forming its own district. Other places are grouped by municipalities as they existed in 1929. The book numbers in the references are to the main inventory and its supplement of church and civil records, which is: Beschrijving van de doop-, trouw- en begraafboeken ... enz. in Zuid-Holland / H. Brouwer, 's-Gravenhage : Algemeene Landsdrukkerij, 1929; and Supplement-beschrijving, 's-Gravenhage : Ministerie van Onderwijs, Kunsten en Wetenschappen, 1959. Both books are found on film number 1393099. The cities of Brielle, Delft, Dordrecht, Gorinchem, Gouda, 's-Gravenhage, Leiden, Maassluis, Rotterdam, Schiedam, and Vlaardingen (with their annexed municipalities) are not included in this index. Two examples from marriages, 1795-1811 of District 7, Krimpenerwaard illustrate how to use the index. H23 p. 123. H23=Book 23 of Haastrecht, which according to the inventory is civil marriages of Vliet. Vliet had been absorbed into the municipality of Haastrecht by 1929. Bg G4 p. 90. G4=Gaarder book 4 of Bergambacht, which according to the inventory is marriage tax records of Bergambacht.
