Thomas Alford was of English descent. He and his wife, Elizabeth, had at least four children: Moses, Elizabeth (b. ca. 1775), John (b. 1763) and James (b. 1766). It is assumed they lived in Wythe County, Virginia, because of records found there. Descendants lived in Virginia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky and elsewhere.
