Henry Smith was born ca. 1705-1710. His name first appears in the records of Stafford County, Virginia, ca. 1740. He married sometime prior to 1736, Sarah Crosby, daughter of Daniel and Mary Crosby. They had thirteen children. He died ca. 1787-1789 in Stafford County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, and elsewhere.

Includes the Crosby, Poston, Thompson, Greer, Mothershead, Cunningham, and other related families.
