Somersworth was a parish until April 1754 when it was granted a charter to become a town. It was formed from the northeast end of the town of Dover.

Contains miscellaneous records from the parish and the town. Also includes births, marriages, and deaths from 1730-ca. 1830.

Volume 1 is a typescript of: vol. D parish and town records, vital statistics 1729-1778, vol. A parish and town accounts 1744-1804, vol. E town meetings and vital statistics 1779-1817, vol B parish and town records, vital statistics 1817-1829.
