"The Wittens came to England from what is now part of Germany and the first American ancestors were of Lord Baltimore's (Cecil Calvert's) colony which located in Maryland in 1633." Descendant Thomas Witten Sr. married Elizabeth Cecil, and moved from Maryland to Giles County, Virginia in 1767. Descendants and relatives lived in Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois and elsewhere.
