Notes

Microfilm of original records at the Virginia State Library in Richmond, Virginia.

Contains orders from the vestry to settle land boundary disputes and to perform land processioning.

The parish vestry was required by law to perform many civil governmental functions, such as land processioning.

Land processioning was required to be done about every fourth year. The land owner would ride or walk their property boundaries with the county surveyor who would redraw any disputed lines. Sometimes the vestry or the county court would have to settle the disputes.
