Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Machen (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, and settled in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Virginia in the 1600's. One such ancestor was John Machan, who settled in Mobjack Bay, Northumberland (now Mathews) County, Virginia. In the 1700's, some Machens settled in Connecticut, Georgia, and South Carolina. During the 1800's, some moved to Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Later descendants also lived in Arkansas, California, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, and elsewhere.
