Notes

Microreproduction of original ms. at the Principal Probate Registry, Somerset House, Strand, London.

From 1541 to about 1598, when there appears to have been a reorganization of the Diocese of Peterborough, wills from all Deaneries were proved either at Northampton in the Archdeacon's Court or at Peterborough in the Consistory Court. After 1598 the wills from the four Eastern Deaneries of Oundle, Weldon, Peterborougn and Rutland, were proved at Peterborough.
