No matter what their designation (will book or deed book), these vols. contain deeds, wills, inventories and appraisals, and other related records. .
The deed books for 3 Nov. 1857 to 19 Jun. 1861 were either lost or destroyed. Next book was v. TT which starts with 19 Jan. 1861. Vol. TT ends on p. 66 with 1 Apr 1862, v. 26 covers Sep. 1865-Aug. 1879, then v. TT picks up the dates with p. 67.
Includes general indexes. Some volumes are also individually indexed. General indexes index the following: deed books Z, M, O, P, R, S, AA-UU, 26, 26-A; W-M, W-R, W-1 to W-14 (will books); COB (court order books); Sch (Scheme book L & D for 1790-1793) (for land matters only); Min (minute books); T-1 to T-6 (deeds of trust books, v. 1-6); deed books 1-315; PB-1 to PB-4 (plat books); and ML-1 to ML-3 (mechanic liens and mortgages). Index abbreviations "OGI" refers to the small General Index book for 1721-1745, "OGIB" referes to General Index for 1845-1865, "R-D" is Release Deed book, "Acct" or "Ests Acct" are for the Estates Account Book (early fiduciary records), etc. An explanation of these and other abbreviations are found in the introduction to each general index book.
Deed book v. RR, 1854-1857, shows the beginning leader board with the dates of 1754-1757. On image 154/155 a corrected title board was inserted to indicate the dates were listed incorrectly by 100 years.
