"This book contains photostat prints of the pages of the Vestry Book of Antrim Parish, Halifax County, Virginia (1732-1817), in the Episcopal Theological Seminary Library. The original consists, in reality, of three books bound into one." -- Typed note at beginning

Antrim Parish was created in 1752 from Cumberland Parish at the same Halifax County was formed from Lunenburg County. The parish covers all of the county.

The parish vestry was required by law to perform many civil governmental functins, such as land processioning, taxation, taking of the poor, guardianship of orphans, road repair, etc.
