Robert Callis (b.1615) was the son of Henrie Callice/Callis of St. Alban, St. Peter's Parish, Hertfordshire, England. He appears to be the Capt. Robert Callis whose transportation was paid to Northampton Co., VA in 1637 and who settled in Petsworth Parish, Gloucester Co., VA. His son John Callis married Martinella Hendryck of Barbados and they settled in Gloucester Co. also. They were the parents of five children: Fenwick, Alexander, Ann & Margaret and John Callis. Several generations of ancestors and descendants are given. Family members lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Washington, Ohio and elsewhere.
