John Gill (ca.1738-1797) immigrated from Ireland to New Jersey, married Sarah Duncan, and later moved to Chester County, South Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived in New Jersey, South Carolina, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois and elsewhere. Some descendants became Mormons, moving to Utah and elsewhere.
