Magnus or Marcus Tate emigrated from Scotland to Philadelphia in 1696, and settled in Frederick County, Virginia (later Jefferson County, West Virginia. He died ca. 1747. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia and elsewhere. Includes ancestry to the 1300s in Scotland.
