John Moore (fl.1778-1808) lived in Surry County, North Carolina, and moved about 1796 to Orangeburg District, South Carolina, to Pendleton County, South Carolina by 1805, and to Hardin or Lincoln County, Kentucky about 1808. Descendants lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and elsewhere.
