Registers are organized by number, burial date, name, age, rank or profession, place of abode, parish or district, mode of burial, section, grave number, ceremony officiator, and signature of registrar.

Anfield Cemetery may have been known as Liverpool Cemetery from 1863 to about 1935, based on information in the registers. The cemetery was divided three ways to accomodate Church of England burials, Roman Catholic burials, and general burials.

Anfield parish was created in 1896 from the parish of Walton-on-the-Hill.
