John Tinne Brock (1776-1870), son of Meshack Brock, Sr. and Martha Tinny, was born in Bedford County, Virginia. He married a widow, Francis Shackleford (1772-1863), daughter of William Wright, in 1798. His grandparents emigrated from Ireland to Virginia, and he himself moved from Virginia to Clark County, Kentucky in 1802. This couple had seven children. Francis had one son, Abner, from her first marriage. Descendants live in Kentucky, Virginia and elsewhere.
