Microfilm of the original records at the Virginia State Library in Richmond, Virginia.

Goochland County kept one list of taxpayers per year. There was no tax collected in 1808, the General Assembly did not pass tax collecting legislation for that year.

Tax lists give the name of the person taxed or tithed, type and amount of taxable property, amount of tax and the county statistics.
