The Canada Company was a private land and colonization firm established in 1824 to effect sale and settlement of lands in western Ontario. The company's advice and letter books, of which four vols. survive, recorded the names of persons who used its services in their efforts to emigrate from Ireland or England to Ontario. The compilers have extracted, in condensed form, every entry to be found in all four vols., and have indexed every name involved in the entries.
