James Coleman born about 1695, was the son of Robert Coleman and Elizabeth Mott (there are some who hold that he was the son of Daniel Coleman). James married Eleanor Madison. She as aunt to President James Madison. James Coleman died on 22 November 1764 in St. Thomas parish, Orange County, Virginia. The couple had four children.
