Volume one focuses on the Allen, Rives and Watkins families as they began their migration in 1822 to northwest Missouri from Virginia. Volume two focuses on the lineal ancestors and descendants of Charles Allen Watkins (1820-1864) and Henrietta Rives (1824-1885) of Virginia and Missouri. Early Virginian ancestors mentioned include Charles Allen (1748-1826) and his wife Mary Venable (1750-1824); Charles' twin brother, Benjamin Allen (1748-1808) and his first wife Elizabeth Austin (b. 1734); William Rives (ca. 1636-ca. 1695) of Oxfordshire, England and Virginia; and Henry Watkins (1637-1715/16).
