Gavin Pou, son of Phillip Pou of Glasgow, Scotland, immigrated to America in 1740 and settled in Orangeburg District, South Carolina. He and his wife, Lady Margaret Mureno, had eight children, 1741-1755. He died in 1775 in Orangeburg District. Descendants listed lived in South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Utah and elsewhere.

Includes the Brantley, Gates, Golsan, Gresham, Houser, Motley, Northington and other related families.
