William Ball was born about 1740 in Virginia to Edward and Sarah Owens Ball. He married Hannah Smith and they had 11 children. He was born in Middlesex county, Virginia and lived there and in Fauquier county, Virginia for the rest of his life. His children later moved to West Virginia, and Kentucky, Information on many of his siblings, cousins, and descendants to about 1860 is included in these volumes. This materials was collected to show that there was no relationship of this family to the family of Mary Ball who was related to George Washington.

Includes Ball, Owen, Smith, and related families.
