Notes

Includes indexes.

Tunis Peters/Petters married Francina Adams before 1777, probably in Virginia. Land survey records, deed books, and minute books place Tunis in Hampshire County, Virginia (later West Virginia) between 1795-1818; he was sheriff of this county from 1815-1818. Sometime after 1818, Tunis and Francina moved to Ohio, where they died in 1826 and 1839, respectively. Descendants have lived chiefly in Ohio.
