William Searight (1791-1852) was a grandson of William Seawright (d.1771), of Scottish lineage, who immigrated from Ireland to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania about 1740. William Searight (1791-1852) was born in Augusta County, Virginia, and settled in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He married Rachel Brownfield, a Quaker girl, in 1826. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere.
