Nicholas (Jager of Jaeger) Yager was born ca. 1678 in Wickersbach Hesse, Germany. He immigrated to America in 1717, with his wife, Mary Wilhoit, and son, and settled at Germanna, Spotsylvania County, Virginia. His son, Adam Yager, was born at Fulkeston, Germany, in 1707. He married Susanna Copeller (Kabler, Kubbler). They had six children. His will was probated in 1794. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and elsewhere.

Michael Wilhoit (later spelled Wilhite), his wife Mary, and four sons, emigrated from Germany, by way of England, and settled at Germanna, Virginia, in 1719. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and elsewhere.
