Family of Lt. Col. Tristram Norsworthy, Esq., who was born ca. 1616 perhaps in the Parish of Widecombe in the Moor, Devonshire, England. In 1638 he was issued land in Upper New Norfolk (later Nansemond) County, Va. In 1654 he was a Justice of the Peace in Nansemond Co. He and his wife, Ann, had at least three sons, George (d. by 1689); Thomas, who married Susannah Moone; and John (d. 1670), who married Frances English. Tristram Norsworthy died ca. 1656.
