Jesse Ashby was born ca. 1738 in Virginia. He married twice and was the father of at least five children. He died in 1823 in Ohio County, Kentucky. His son, Peter Ashby, was born in 1751 in Frederick County, Virginia. He served in the Revolutionary War. He married Winnifred Timmons (ca. 1760-1838), daughter of daughter of George Timmons (1760-1845), in 1776 in Hampshire County, Virginia. They had eight children. He died ca. 1833 in Hopkins County, Kentucky. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Illinois, and elsewhere.
