Samuel Lane (1628-1682) was the son of Richard Lane (b.1596)of Hereford and Alice Carter of London, England. She was the daughter of Humfry Carter, a London ironmonger whose will was proved 1 June 1621. Samuel emigrated to Anne Arundel, MD in 1663 with immigrants transported by Thomas Vaughan. Samuel married Margaret Mauldin Burrage in 1669. She was the daughter of John Burrage, a Quaker and Grace Burrage Parker Lloyd of Anne Arundel, MD. A son Samuel Lane (1681-1715) married Sarah Harrison (b.1681), the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Harrison, Quakers of Calvert County, MD. Another son, Dutton Lane married Pretitia Tidings, orphan daughter of Richard Tidings. A descendant, William Lane (1814-1905) married (1) Deborah Jackson and (2) Mariana Jackson in Ohio. Descendants lived in Ohio, Maryland, Texas and elsewhere. Includes several generations of ancestors and ten generations of descendants.
