John and Christina Snuffer Dick were born in Germany. They immigrated to America in the late 1700's, probably landing in Maryland. They had six children. John Dick purchased land in Botetourt County, Virginia, in 1791, and property in Wythe County, Virginia, in 1796. The family migrated to Kentucky in 1802. He died ca. 1826 in Wayne County, Kentucky. John Dick, Jr. (1782-1869) married Elizabeth Chrisman, daughter of Isaac and Sarah Gholson Chrisman. They had sixteen children, 1807-1835. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Iowa, and elsewhere.
