Lewis Richards was born ca. 1764 probably in Culpepper County, Virginia. He served in the Revolutionary War from Virginia. He married Lucy Hunton in Lancaster County, Virginia, in 1788. They had eight children, 1790-1811, born in Virginia and Kentucky. He died in 1846 in Union County, Kentucky. His daughter, Nancy (1793-ca. 1852) married Alexander M. Henry in Hapkisn County, Kentucky, in 1809. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Indiana, and elsewhere.

Includes a picture of a historial sign in Kentucky at the site of Lewis Richard's home.
