Joseph Clarke was born in 1618 at Westhorpe, Suffolk County, England, the son of Thomas Clarke (1570-1627) and great grandson of John Clarke (1503-1559). He immigrated to America in 1638 and settled in Newport and Westerly, Rhode Island. He and his wife, Margaret, had ten children. He died in 1694. Record gives line of descent to John Andrew Clark (1878-1968), who was born in Caldwell County, Texas, the son of Thomas Francis Clark (1844-1932). He married Minnie Lucy McCutchan in 1904. They had ten children, 1905-1922. No localities given for descendants.

Includes the Eustace family, tracing the line of descent from John Eustace (d. 1702) of Bishop's Waltham, Hants., England, and Northumberland, Virginia, to Bettie Eustace (1847-1922), who was born in Alabama, the daughter of Joseph N. Eustace (1810-1888). She married Thomas F. Clark (1844-1932) in 1870. They had eleven children.
