The first known member of Durbin family in Maryland was Thomas Durbin, who sailed from Bristol, England ca. 1654-1663 destination Nevis, British West Indies. From there he migrated to Ann Arundel County prior to 1676 and then moved with his family to Baltimore County after 1676 and died prior to 1720. John Durbin, Sr. died 1743 in Baltimore Co., Md. He married (1) Averilla Scott 1715 and (2) Eleanor Olson 1743. Samuel Durbin (ca. 1704-1752) lived near Westminster in present Carroll Co., Md. He married 1723 Ann Logsdon.
