Genealogy of the Joseph Ball, Sr. (b. 1783) of W. Va. His children were: 1. Nancy Ball (18156-ca. 1852), who married John Cantley; 2. Augustus Ball (b. 1817), who married Eliza Shumate, daughter of Par- kinson Shumate of Giles Co., Va. He lived in Mercer Co., W. Va., Minnesota, and Boone Co., W. Va.; 3. Joseph Ball, Jr. (b. 1825), who married his cousin, Delilah Comer, daughter of Frederick and Polly Mitchell Comer; 4. Rebecca Ball (b. 1826), who married Sylvester Conley; 5. John F. Ball (b. 1827), who married Louisa Miller, daughter of Col. John and Elizabeth Mitchell Miller; 6. Jacob Ball (b. 1830), who married Mary Miller, daughter of "Fork John" and Catherine Mitchell Miller; 7. James A. Ball (1832-1913), who married (1) Louisa Jane McNealy, daughter of Joseph and Martha NcNealy; (2) Emazetta Adkins, daughter of Joshua Jr. and Sarah Adkins; 8. Reuben Ball (1836-1886), who married Surilda Elkins, daughter of Zacheus and Lucrecia Elkins. No other place names mentioned in this record than the ones above.
