Mark Skelton and his wife, Ann Wootten, lived in Mecklenburg County, Virginia; Mark died in 1784. Their only known progeny, a son named Powell Skelton (d. 1829), moved to Shelby County, Kentucky. Powell married three times, to 1) Mary Polly McKinney in 1801, to 2) Hannah Gott in 1805, and to 3) Elizabeth Gott in 1823. Descendants include members of the Buser and Britton families of Kentucky, Montgomery County, Indiana, and elsewhere.
