John Prescott (fl.1653-1691) was a son of Edward Prescott of Shevington and Coppull, Standish Parish, Lancashire, England. John immigrated to Nansemond County, Virginia in 1653, and died before 1692. John Benjamin Prescott Jr. (1838-1903) of Beaufort, North Carolina was a direct descendant in the eighth generation. Descendants and rela- tives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and elsewher.
