The Reverend William Douglas served both St. James Northam Parish (Dover Church) in Goochland County and in Manakin Town which was part of King William Parish. King William Parish was in Goochland County during this time period but is now in Powhatan County because of county boundary changes.
Contains separate male and female indexes to marriages; male and female indexes to marriage recorded by Rev. Douglas but indicated by birth registry; births and baptisms arranged alphabetically; deaths and funerals arranged alphabetically; marriage, birth & death records of colored persons; Douglas family entries; miscellaneous entries; historical sketch of King William Parish or "Manakin Town"; King William Parish records arranged alphabetically ca. 1720-1755; and an index of the older probate records of Goochland County, Virginia.
