John Petty Jordan (b.1845) was born in North Carolina, and served with North Carolina troops during the Revolutionary War. He married Martha Jane Williamson in 1868 in Blount County, Tennessee, and settled on land near Coytee, Blount County, Tennessee. Descendants and relatives lived in North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and elsewhere. John Harvey Jordon (b.1932) was a direct descendant in the fourth generation of John Petty Jordan.
