Notes

Text in English and French.

The catalogue is organized by the provinces and territories of Canada in 1901. It usually lists the sub-district, district (bold-face upper case type) and National Archives film number.

The microfiches contain a "detailed list of place names ... arranged alphabetically by province, and alphabetically by census districts within each province. Census districts are divided into sub-districts which are also arranged alphabetically."--Introd. (microfiches).

The microfiches include the district number and name, sub-district number and name, schedule number, NAC film number, page numbers and remarks (if any).

No circulation to family history centers.

The 1901 census schedules were created under the direction of the Department of Agriculture.
