The Coffman and related families of Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Missou- ri, Illinois, Ohio, Maryland and elsewhere. Descendants of Abraham Coffman (1763-1843), son of Jacob Coffman, who went from Hardy Co., Va., to Bourbon Co., Va. (made Kentucky in 1792) then to Monroe Co., Indiana and finally to Putnam Co., Indiana. He married probably about 1784 in Hampshire Co., Va. Ann Thursby (1765-ca. 1850). They were parents of fifteen children.

Includes allied families of Mark, Arnold, Reeves, etc.
