Documentation, copies of original documents and excerpts from published books, etc., on ancestral families and relatives, chiefly Mickler family, of Grace Catherine Hartley Hatcher Wellons. She was born at Jacksonville, Florida, in 1925, the daughter of John Herbert Hartley (1884-1952) and Greace Leavett Hartley (1886-1944). Her parents were married in 1905 and had nine children, 1906-1931. Grace Catherine married 1) Harmon Jefferson Hatcher (1916-1980) in 1968. They had two sons. They were divorced in 1968. She married 2) William Benjamin Wellons (b. 1926) in 1991.

Peter Meckler was a founding member of the German Lutheran Church of Thelehem on Foustsford, Orangeburg District, South Carolina. He was living in Lexington County, South Carolina, for the 1800 and 1810 censuses. He and his wife had at least five children. Two of his sons, Jacob and Peter, migrated to Camden County, Georgia, ca. 1790. Jacob Mickle (ca. 1755-ca. 1796) and his wife, Eve, had eight children, 1775-1792. His grandson, Jacob Mickler III (1803-1857) was born in Georgia. He married Manuella de Mier (1816-1900) in 1831 at St. Augustine, Florida. They had fifteen children, 1834-1857. Record chiefly traces line of descent to Grace Catherine Hartley Hatcher Wellons.

Other ancestors include: Melton Albert Hartley (1856-1925) of Mandarin, Florida, and his wife, Camilla Mickler Hartley (1868-1905) -- Lazaro Ortega (fl. 1789) of Isle of Minorca and St. Augustine, Florida -- Antonio Fernandez de Mier (d. 1823) of Cadiz, Spain, and St. Augustine, Florida.
