Notes

Microfilm of original records at the Public Record Office, Dublin.

These registers were prepared by the Inland Revenue Office for taxation purposes. They were presented to the Dublin P.R.O. in 1937. The information serves as abstracts of wills which were destroyed in the 1922 Four Courts fire. The Prerogative Court of the Archbishop of Armagh and the Diocesan courts under that court had original jurisdiction over probate of these wills. Abstracts include names of the deceased, the executor, sometimes the heirs, dates of the will and of the probate, and value of the estate.
