Ancestry is traced to Robert Lincoln, Sr. who died in 1543 in Hingham, England. His descendant, Samuel Lincoln (1619-1690), came to America in 1637 and died in Hingham, Massachusetts. Documents line of Jacob Lincoln (1751-1822), son of John and Rebecca Lincoln. He was born in Carnarvon, Pennsylvania and married Dorcas Robertson in 1780. He later died in Linville Creek, Rockingham County, Virginia. Descendants of this line later moved to Illinois.
