Johann Jacob Barb was born November 28, 1725 in Hochstenbach, Westerwald, Germany. He died April 2o, 1819 in Shenandoah Co., Virginia. He married Maria Catharina Richter June 18, 1745. They immigrated to America arriving at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 14, 1749 eventually settling in Louden Co., Virginia. Descendants live in Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Kansas and elsewhere. Includes Baker, Barbe, Biller, Dellinger, Estep, Funkhouser, Miller, Silveus, Winegardner, and related families.
