Notes

The official name of the church appears to be the Independent or Congregational (Circular) Church.

"We have not included in this publication data from the registers - marriages, baptisms and burials. We have included the 1732 pew holders, the signers of the 1778 Constitution of the Church, the inscriptions from the tombstones at the church yard in Charleston and the church yard in Old Wappetaw, as well as the entries in the Rev. William Hutson's Register [baptisms, marriages, deaths]"--Introd., p. ii.

The Wappetaw church was probably about 10 miles northeast of Charleston.

In alphabetical order by surname.
